MAGIX Collaboration:  (a) electron scattering experiment MAGIX  (b) beam dump experiment DarkMESA

Welcome to the MAGIX!

Conception

The objective of the MAGIX Collaboration is to perform, evaluate and interpret electron scattering experiments at the high-intensity electron accelerator MESA in Mainz, Germany. Basic components of the setup are an internal gas jet target, two high-resolution magnetic spectrometers equipped with tracking detectors and a trigger/veto system, additional recoil detectors, and supplemental instrumentation. This setup is the MAGIX experiment at MESA. In addition, the collaboration will also perform experiments dedicated to the search of dark matter and other exotic particles using a beam dump experimental setup, DarkMESA.

The key physical objectives of the Collaboration are:

The MAGIX Project is hosted by the ⇒ Institute for Nuclear Physics of the ⇒ University of Mainz. The experiments, as well as the accelerator, are currently under construction.
